Kit includes: 1) Tamrac 5546 Adventure 6 Digital Camera Bag (Camo); 2) Cleaning Kit; 3) Tripod. This ultra-sleek and compact backpack carries and protects a digital or film SLR with a 3Â" lens attached, an additional lens, a small flash and accessories. The Adventure 6 features a youthful, modern and sleek design that, for security, does not look like a camera bag. In this uniquely designed backpack, the lower section is a completely foam-padded camera bag compartment, while the upper section functions like a traditional backpack to hold a light jacket, lunch or other personal items needed on your next photo adventure. The front pocket features Tamrac's patented Memory Battery Management System that uses red flags to identify which memory cards and batteries are available. The foam-padded camera compartment has a weather flap and quick-release buckle for security and weather protection. Two mesh pockets on the sides provide quick access to accessories and water bottles. The pack is equipped with an adjustable waist strap and an expandable sternum strap. Also features Tamrac's Strap Accessory System attachment points for customizing with optional S.A.S. products. The 6-Piece Cleaning Kit includes: a deluxe air blower; lens cleaning liquid; soft exterior cleaning cloth; blower brush; cotton swabs; and a booklet of lens cleaning tissues. The Digital Photo Video Tripod extends up to 57" and collapses down to 22". Its quick-release camera plate allows switching from tripod-mounted to hand-held shooting in just seconds. The 3-Way Panhead pans, tilts and flips. Using a tripod can be a lot of fun because it lets you get in the picture for self-timer shots. A tripod becomes necessary when using a telephoto lens, or for doing macro-photography, or when you are shooting portraits and want to frame the photo just so, or for slower shutter speeds, or . . . whenever you want the sharpest photograph possible.

For starters, the Rebel XT delivers 3,456 x 2,304-pixel images for images of 1319 inches and larger. The camera features variable ISO 100, 200, 400, 800 and 1,600 settings and supports all Canon EOS series lenses. An optical viewfinder provides detailed information such as diopter adjustment and depth-of-field preview, while the 1.8-inch TFT LCD view finder offers a wealth of additional information as well as several playback features, including thumbnail view and zooming to 10x magnification. Backlit with five level settings for brightness, the viewfinder is easy to read in dark environments. While the Rebel XT is compatible with all Canon lenses in the EF lineup ranging from ultra-wide-angle to super-telephoto lenses , the camera includes the Canon EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 lens. This 18-55mm is a standard zoom designed exclusively for the Digital Rebel and features optimized coating to minimize ghost images and flare.
If action photography is your specialty, the Rebel XT offers a continuous shooting mode that captures as many as 14 images as fast as three frames per second (with shutter speeds of 1/250 second or faster.) The camera offers a shutter speed range from 1/4,000 to 30 seconds, and a bulb x-sync at 1/200 seconds. Best of all, it features an ultra-fast 0.2 seconds startup time, a shutter release lag of 100 milliseconds, and viewfinder blackout time of 175 milliseconds all of which means that youll always be on top of the action.
Despite its wealth of advanced features, the Rebel XT is also one of the easiest, and most user-friendly digital SLRs youll find anywhere. Its compact design 4.98 x 3.71 x 2.63 inches (W x H x D) and weight (less than two pounds) means that the camera body will fit snugly in your hands. The EOS Digital Rebel XT has a newly developed high-precision seven-point autofocus (AF) system for speedy and accurate focusing in any situation. You can easily choose your own point of focus or direct the camera to choose it automatically. You can even use predictive AF to ensure that moving subjects stay focused while you compose your shot. With a built-in dioptric adjustment mechanism and a new precision matte screen, achieving sharp focus is fast and easy with the Rebel XT, no matter where or when youre taking pictures.
A number of additional automatic setting and shooting modes including Portrait, Landscape, Close-up, Sports, Night Portrait, and Flash Off allows you to concentrate on your subject and leave the camera to sort out the details. A redeye reduction via a built-in illuminator keeps your face shots on track, and USB 2.0 connectivity for both PC and Macintosh lets you upload your images with ease and without the need for additional software. The camera also supports direct printing with PictBridge compatible printers. In short, the Rebel XT is the ideal digital SLR choice for both the serious photographer who demands the ultimate in high-quality features, as well as the weekend picture taker who demands the ultimate in affordability and convenience.

The 4 Types of Love

Today is the 100th day after my grandfather had passed away. It is the normal wont to hold a small gathering of families and relatives and conduct prayers for those who have passed on.

After the Christian prayer, food awaits and alcoholic beverages are served to the ones with gleaming eyes. I don't participate in any alcohol consumption due to religious restrictions.

Tonight's dinner was held in moderation. As usual there were long conversations between aunties, uncles, cousins and so on. I was in my usual poise - quiet and observant. I am the oldest among my first cousins but I can tune in to their subject with ease. I am young at heart maaa... Actually I favour hanging out with the teens than with the more wise. But there are times when my mood may swing the other way.

Outdoor, an old guitar gives off the Hotel California sound and singing was done by more than one vocalist. Indoor, the murmurs of conversations took place. I felt misplaced so I quickly joined my aunt and mom in one corner. :)

At 9pm, I was ready to go. My mom and brother too excused themselves. We handshaked anyone nearby and walked away from the still jubilant crowd. It's good to see families bonding again.

She made her stand, between hope and fear, saying goodbye with her eyes to a love that had gilded the seams of her soul. No time to reach out no time to run. It was slow at first, the violation that corrupted her true nature. No amount of screaming could have stopped it. It consumed her light, suffocating her. Escape was now compressed into a shadowed corner within. Lifes blood soon followed, leaving in a hushed resignation. Death held out its hand in compassion. She took it for all its mercy and redemption. Slipping away was easy as there was a strange contentment that spoke to her. Soothing her. She was going to go homeit was ok. Reaching out to the warmth at last, eternity welcoming herbut something was in her way she was trappedpulling her away into a sterile and dark containment that terrified her. NO!Please, not now! Please let me go! Help me! Help me J . The sound of her soul crying out faded one last time, but not before it would be felt light years away in the haunted heart of a broken man.

Like many of you, I have had a Hotmail account for some years, but I went back to the Windows Live sign-up page to refresh my memory of the process. Most of the things I noticed were already brought up by Emily in her post - assumption of a Western middle-class background, for example, but I did notice that the default "Country/Region" box was set to United States, and the section for "account information" included State, Zip code and Time Zone - the states were American states, and the time zones were American time zones, as well as the fact that the "zip code" is a USA method. So, the site assumes that, as an Internet user and a subscriber to Windows Live, you are probably American with a middle-class and probably Western background. Also that you are either male or female, or identify as such. The site claims that these details can be used to reactivate your account should you forget your password...to me it seems slightly more intrusive than necessary, but I'm guessing most new users will fill out the required sections on the form without a second thought.

Yahoo! was slightly different, in that it detected that I was accessing the sign-up page from Australia and offered me the option to switch to the Australian version of Yahoo! to set up my account - the email address of which would end differently to one set up on the default US version. This could conceivably be an incentive for some Australian users to stick with the US version to avoid problems when giving others their new email address.
I switched to the Australian version, where the secret questions assumed that you were: in a stable relationship, grew up knowing your father, had been privileged enough to own a car, bike or pet, went to at least two schools, and that your high school had had a "mascot" - more of an American tradition, but still included in the Australian version...
The Marketing Preferences box was automatically ticked to be sent ads for special offers and the like, but this I think was more of a marketing ploy.

On to Second Life, where, yes, your gender was male or female, and you were also by default a young person with a slim physique. Possibly customisation options are available later in the game? Though both Caucasian and dark-skinned races were represented, it was difficult to tell whether avatars with Asian characteristics were represented in Second Life or not. There were options for avatars with dark hair and slightly darker skin tone, but their facial characteristics didn't seem any different to those of the Caucasian avatars. There was also nothing for Arabic, Indian, Polynesian, American Indian, Australian Aboriginal, Hispanic, or a myriad of other "races" - though this could be excused by the fact that it is the sign-up page, and giving the user a limited set of options to start with encourages them to customise more once they enter the game.
Your first name was your choice, but your last name had to be selected from a list of available last names - probably to prevent avatars with the same first and last names, as well as reducing the incidence of "joke" names. The names ran the gamut of foreign backgrounds, but strangely there were very few Asian-sounding last names. Whether this was due to them all being used or because of a bias against identifiably Asian avatars is unclear.
Like the last two sites, Second Life also assumes a privileged background, with questions such as "What city were you born in?", "What street did you grow up on?" and "What is your favourite vacation spot?" Since users will be spending money on the site this is quite possibly a fair assumption - someone with enough spare cash to spend it on Second Life has a high probability of being at least middle-class.

Lastly, Lavalife. As suggested on the workshop sheet, the default search assumes you are a single, straight female, seeking a 25-34 year old male for casual dating - a reflection of the most common type of Lavalife user. It is interesting that, even on a dating site for people unable to otherwise find romantic relationships, the only genders available for selection are male and female - the site does not appear to cater for transgender, polygender, transvestites or others, though you do have the option of searching for the same gender as yourself.

In conclusion, most of the sites seemed as if they were catering to what they perceived to be the demographic most likely to use their services. It seemed to me to be more of a tool to maximise efficiency and make the site more user-friendly to the majority of users, thus attracting more traffic. The "menu-driven identities" seen in these high-traffic sites are thus less a product of Western society's ingrained expectations of the "normal" Internet user, and more a result of marketing strategy - making the sites easier to use for the type of user most likely to access them, increasing traffic and therefore increasing profit for the site's owners.

4 Popular Ways To Lose Weight Fast

Like many people Ive been on dozens of diet plans over the years ranging from Atkins to South Beach to Weightwatchers to Jenny Craig and lots more besides. In fact, Ive eaten enough cabbage soup to satisfy a small country! Im 5 feet 10 and I used to weigh 230 pounds and needed to lose a good 50 pounds to get myself in some short of shape. And then it hit me. Its seems so logical now and so simple but I had ignored the simplest weight loss solution of all. Heres how I discovered it.
I was over in the UK on vacation and saying with an Aunt. We were having tea together and my Aunt was watching her favourite daytime TV show called Today with Des and Mel. The host, a rather charming guy called Des OConnor was being asked how he stayed so trim and slim and indeed virile at aged 70 (he had just once again become a father) and he gave me the simplest weight loss solution I have ever heard. In fact youd be seriously challenged to find a fitter and more vibrant looking 70 year old anywhere on the planet.
Dess answer was that he only eats one meal per day in the evening, and in fact eats as much as he wants at that one meal sitting. During the day he may well graze on a bit of fruit and naturally drinks plenty of fluids but he swears by the plan and has done for over 40 years.
This seemed so simple and ridiculously easy and I was very doubtful whether it would work for me. However, its based on pure logic. By missing out on significant calories during the day, the body makes up for it in the evening and then stores up calories to keep you going the next day until your evening meal. However, Im no scientist or doctor and Im only interested in results. Heres how it worked for me.
Week One was a little challenging. I did nibble on the odd cookie to keep me going with my morning black coffee. I missed the social aspect of lunch but contented myself with knowing that I was doing my health and body a huge favor. In week one I lost 6 pounds and in the first month 15 pounds dropped off my body! However, having been on many diet programs over the years I was worried it could all come back.
With this in mind I started a gentle walking program in the evenings after my meal of the day and this really helped me with my energy levels. I really didnt want to visit a gym or stress myself by running.
I was eating everything I wanted in the evenings, including ice cream and lots of ribs and fries etc. However, after the first month my body seemed to start regulating itself and I didnt seem to crave these heavy rich foods as much. I think my body started to learn that it needed to eat well and wholesome in the evenings so it could get through the next 24 hours.
In month two I dropped another 13 pounds. In month three I lost a further 12 pounds and in month four another 11 pounds making for a total weight loss of 51 pounds in FOUR months. Truly amazing. Im still staggered by it.
I dont recommend this plan for life and have slowly reintroduced a healthy breakfast and a very light lunch. Its a truly great plan for losing excess weight quickly though - and works like nothing Ive ever tried before.
One year on and Im still at my target weight of 180 pounds. I still do my walking exercise most evenings and feel 1000% better with loads more energy. Ive recommended this plan to dozens of friends and I have to say its worked for 90% of them. Give it a shot, the odds are that itll work great for you too! Check with your doctor first though to be safe.

Article from Sustrans:
What do 44 per cent of women have access to but three quarters of women never use?
Everyone has something in their cupboard or wardrobe that theyve bought but never used and research from sustainable transport charity Sustrans shows that nearly half of all women (44 per cent) have access to a bike but three quarters of women do not cycle at all.
The reasons women dont cycle vary from their concerns about safety to the problems of what to wear and the weather. Sustrans, who have been developing the National Cycle Network for the past three decades, believe that a combination of dedicated cycle lanes and good information on how and where to cycle are two key elements that would increase the number of women cyclists to European levels. In the Netherlands 32 per cent of womens trips are made by bike.
The research, commissioned from BMRB, also shows the gender divide over cycling - around eight per cent of men cycle every day compared to just one per cent of women. Both men and women in East Anglia are the most cycle-inclined, 62 per cent of households have access to a bike and nearly half (43 per cent) cycle at some time.
At the other end of the spectrum London has the lowest bike ownership - only 37 per cent of households have them and the people of the North West has the most reluctant bike users - 79 per cent of people dont cycle at all. BMRB carried out its research in July 2008. It surveyed 2008 adults aged 16+.
Unquote
I think a lot of women still think it is to ride a bike or they can be self conscious. Perhaps there is a lot of peer pressure to impress their friends by using a 44 instead or an open top convertible. Also carting stuff around isnt much fun either. I have only recently got stylish pannier racks but you often cannot find nice ones in cycle shops. I think also a lot of them just t mix with sporty women. Being round sporty people tends to rub off on others.

Some traders and mercenaries from one of the Steamwheedle Cartel’s subsidiaries seem to have found their way parked on the Ghostlands’ east coast. Supposedly they’ve been shipping arms and munitions to the Shattered Sun Offensive. The goblins and their Orc taskmaster appear to pretty sketchy though, it wouldn’t too much of a surprise if they were also there to deal illegal items on the side or had been ransacking the nearby abandoned towns. I didn’t make too much of an issue of it, they completely outnumber me and they’ve smartly avoided my “neighbourhood”. Plus I was able to get some lumber and other supplies at a good price.

They’ve built some sort of temporary dock by the village, and apparently make weekly round trips to Rachet and Booty Bay. Living alone and staying in the dreary woods of the Ghostlands can be depressing and especially boring. That’s when I decided I should go on some sort of small vacation. In near spontaneous act, I packed some things and paid for passage to Rachet.

The trip was intolerable but thankfully the Drunken Kodo was open by the time of my arrival. I was really there for the change of scenery more so than anything but I decided to put on one of Vie’s dress creation mingles with the locals. It started out a little awkward but eventually I ran into Fandaleen, then eventually Carsis, Meganna and Tyrelys (with actual footwear). There were other Sin’dorei too, a Zalika and a Tuhina, along with two of Carsis’ friends (I think?). The topics of conversation started out fairly well, just my current predicament of what to do with replacing the windows at my estate. The conversation hopped from holy water, fire and eventually runes. Then I started to get (subtly) vocal about the governing body of Magisters in Silvermoon City (it was their fault that the House was dissolved after all).

Then it eventually turned into a discussion of mutual distaste for the city. The governing body, the police, the citizens, the near-anarchy and its mechanical instigators. I think that struck a nerve with Tyrelys and he stormed off in a huff. I don’t blame him, he is a Blood Knight after all, albeit one with too much faith in Silvermoon City. Perhaps we might have gone too far? I felt a little guilty.

The Sin’dorei people in general are not a failure of a race or nation. Far from that, our people have endured the greatest of atrocities and managed to rebuild out of sheer independent will. While the humans struggle to reclaim their fallen land, we have managed to fully achieve the reclamation of Quel’thalas (northern Quel’thalas, Eversong Woods anyway). But that being said, Silvermoon City and the Sin’dorei people aren’t wholly related. A terrible state of a capital city doesn’t make for a poor excuse of a nation, though I can see why some may see it that way.

But again, I’m also greatly exaggerating with the above statement. Silvermoon City isn’t a horrible city, I can’t think of any other Horde capital city with the advanced arcane luxury of the capital. Unfortunately, it’s the lunatics and troublemakers that seem to stain the city the most. Horrible experiences tend to leave deeper impressions compared to good ones. Usually when people are rubbed the wrong way, they tend to avoid having that happen ever again. I think my bitterness comes from poor experiences with the locals. Over a year of patrolling footwork in the city did that too.

In my opinion, Silvermoon City was supposed to be a city of possibilities and inspiration in the realm of arts and science at best. Or a den of snooty elitism and questionable affairs at worst. Truthfully, the city lacks the feeling of either. The city seems incoherently plain now.

Its a funny thing about jigsaws; most of us tend to reach for another tool in its stead, having had less-than-great experiences with the little beasts. But here comes Boschs 1590, and it elevates the outcast jigsaw to the most-wanted list.
The first thing we liked about this saw is its heft; its beefy, solid and made with that famous Swiss quality. You wrap your hand around the soft, substantial grip, squeeze the ample trigger and the soft-start whirs gently; with hardly any effort from you, the blade slices through whatevers ahead of it. Perhaps because its heavier than most jigsaws, theres practically zero vibration, giving you a delightfully smooth, no-buzz experience, something pretty much unheard of in your average jigsaw.
Another nice feature is the speed mechanism: Set your maximum speed on the trigger dial, then control your speed up to that max by squeezing the trigger. On long cuts, you can lock the trigger on, too, and the blower actually does keep your cutline clear.
If thats all this saw had going for it, that would be enough for us. But coolest of all is the blade-change system that literally ejects the blade in a split second, takes the new one and gets you right back to your cutting all tool-free. Amazing.
If youve relegated the jigsaw to the bottom of your toolbox, you owe it to yourself to give this one a chance. We think its fantastic. --Kris Jensen-Van Heste

Salmonella Cases Prompt Alfalfa Sprout Recall in Northwest
On the heels of the huge nationwide salmonella outbreak that caused more than 1,400 illnesses from Mexican peppers, a regional Oregon alfalfa sprout distributor has recalled its product in Oregon and Washington state after the sprouts were linked to 13 cases of salmonellosis .
According to the Seattle Times, the U.S. Department of Agriculture and health officials in Oregon announced a recall of Sprouter's Northwest brand alfalfa sprouts after 13 people in the two states showed signs of salmonellosis after consuming the sprouts. No deaths have been reported.
Sprouters Northwest, headquartered in Kent, Ore., voluntarily recalled its alfalfa sprout products, the newspaper reports. They are distributed in grocery stores, supermarkets and used in restaurants. The first incidents of salmonella poisoning -- which can cause diarrhea, fever and vomiting -- were reported in early August, the newspaper reports.
This is the second suspected salmonella outbreak involving Sprouter's Northwest, the Times reports. The company recalled alfalfa sprouts in Washington and Oregon in 2004 after 12 people became ill, according to the USDA Web site.
Any Sprouter's Northwest products should be thrown away or returned, the newspaper reports.

Good Protein Breakfast May Aid Weight Loss
Eating good-quality protein at breakfast may help people lose weight, suggests a Purdue University study.
The researchers found that overweight or obese men in the study who ate eggs and lean Canadian bacon in the morning had a greater sense of sustained fullness throughout the day, compared to when they ate more protein at lunch or dinner, United Press International reported.
"There is a growing body of research which supports eating high-quality protein foods when dieting to maintain a sense of fullness," study author Wayne Campbell said in a news release. "This study is particularly unique in that it looked at the timing of protein intake and reveals that when you consume more protein may be a critical piece of the equation."
The men in the study ate a calorie-reduce diet with two variations of protein intake -- 11 to 14 percent or 18 to 25 percent of daily calories. Both were within U.S. nutrition recommendations for normal protein intake, UPI reported.

Nicotine May Enhance Other Experiences: Study
The way nicotine enhances other experiences may have something to do with its addictive quality, according to a Kansas State University study in the journal Neuropsychopharmacology.
Most research on nicotine focuses on the drug itself, rather than other aspects such as social factors, noted lead author Matthew Palmatier, United Press International reported.
"People have very regimented things they do when they smoke," Palmatier said in a news release. "People smoke in very specific places, often with a specific group of people. Maybe it's a reason why nicotine is so addictive -- if you get used to having that extra satisfaction from things you normally enjoy, not having nicotine could reduce the enjoyment in a given activity."
He said it's necessary to look at the big picture in order to better understand why people smoke, even though most of them are fully aware of the health risks
"(Smokers) want to quit but can't. It's not because nicotine is a potent drug; it doesn't induce significant amounts of pleasure or euphoria. Yet, it's just as difficult, if not more difficult, to quit than other drugs," said Palmatier, UPI reported.

Fablyn Increases Risk of Blood Clots: FDA Document
While the new osteoporosis drug Fablyn has been shown to be effective in postmenopausal women with a higher risk of bone fractures, the drug also increased the risk of blood clots and invasive gynecological visits, says a U.S. Food and Drug Administration advisory board briefing document released Thursday.
The document was made public in advance of the advisory board's scheduled Monday meeting to decide whether to recommend approval of the drug, Forbes reported.
In 2005 and 2006, the FDA issued "non-approvable" letters for Fablyn, which acknowledged the drug's effectiveness, but questioned whether it increased the risk of blood clots and stroke.
A five-year study of more than 9,000 women conducted by Pfizer and development partner Ligand Pharmaceuticals found that the drug didn't increase the risk of stroke but did increase the risk of blood clots, Forbes reported.

U.S. Army Suicides Could Hit Highest Levels Since 2003
The U.S. Army appears headed for a record number of suicides this year and may top the civilian suicide rate for the first time since the Vietnam war, Agence France-Presse reported.
Last year, 115 soldiers took their own lives, the most ever on record in a single year for the army. So far this year, 93 soldiers have committed suicide, army officials said Thursday.
"With four months left, we're probably going to surpass 115," said Colonel Eddie Stephens, the army's deputy director of human resources policy, AFP reported.
If the current pace of soldier suicides continues, the army will exceed the U.S. civilian suicide rate of 19.5 per 100,000 people in 2005, the latest data compiled by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
The army's suicide rate has steadily risen from 12.4 per 100,000 in 2003, despite efforts to increase soldiers' awareness of the issue and to ease the stigma of seeking help for mental health troubles, AFP reported.

Intellectual Tasks May Boost Calorie Intake
Hard thinking may make you eat more and put on weight, suggests a Canadian study.
Universite Laval researchers invited 14 students to eat as much as they wanted after doing three different low energy tasks: sitting and relaxing; reading and summarizing a text; and finishing memory and attention tests on a computer, CTV News reported.
Compared to relaxing, the students burned only three more calories while doing the two mental tasks. However, they ate 203 more calories after summarizing the text and 253 more calories after the computer tests.
Blood tests showed the students had more pronounced changes in glucose and insulin levels while doing the mental tasks than when resting, CTV News reported. The brain uses glucose as fuel and may try to maintain its glucose balance by taking in more food, the researchers suggested.
"Caloric overcompensation following intellectual work, combined with the fact that we are less physically active when doing intellectual tasks, could contribute to the obesity epidemic currently observed in industrialized countries," said lead author Jean-Philippe Chaput said. "This is a factor that should not be ignored, considering that more and more people hold jobs of an intellectual nature.

It was raining and dark, and I was scared. I didnt want to be there, I wanted to go home. But my mother isnt driving the right way, and she looked upset. I reached out to her and grasped her sleeve,

She glanced at me and forced a smile, ll be aright darling, we just need to go help Aunt Simone, ok? Were meeting Daddy there.

I nodded and let her go sitting back into my seat correctly. It felt like forever until we pulled up to what I supposed was Aunt Simones apartment; I was excited because Aunt Simone was my favorite person in the world besides my parents. Mama picked me up from the car seat and walked inside. I was curious what it would be like inside because I had never actually seen her apartment before. She always came to our house, and never for more than the afternoon. As we walked inside, I shrunk back in fear because suddenly the air was alive with shouting. My mothers face grew stricken and she quickly set me down, Darling, I want you to stay right here and dont move alright? Not a single inch alright?

I stared at her wide eyed and nodded vigorously. I watched as she all but ran from the room, she came back moments later leading two boys who were obviously frightened. I blinked at them, one was wearing green and the other was wearing blue but otherwise they were exactly alike. She sat them down on the couch and motioned me to come over as well; she settled us together and dropped a kiss onto my forehead. I need to go to the back darlings, but I need you to stay still, and no matter what you hear you need to stay here. Do not go to the back room, alright?

The three of us nodded in unison, and she smiles at us sadly before kissing me once again and leaving the room. I was frightened, and it only seemed to get worse as suddenly it began to thunder as well.
The shouting got louder, and the lights flickered; I had truly never been this afraid. The two boys sat on either side of me looking grave, and I was horribly confused. On the third crack of thunder I couldnt help it, I began to cry. The twin on my right looked over my head at his brother a bit lost for what to do, his brother shrugged. The yelling got louder and I began to curl up into a ball and pushed my hands over my ears trying to keep the noise out. The twins seemed to realize they had to do something, the one on my right hesitantly touched my shoulder and I blinked at him. He smiled at me, and I just sort of stared at him. The other began to whisper to me, My name is Bill and hes Tom, whats your name?

I blinked at him as well and whispered, m Calli.

He smiled at me and took one of my hands, You dont have to be afraid you know. They yell all the time but its always ok in the end. Youre completely safe. Were completely used to it Tom

I looked down and shivered as it thundered again, s a sad-making thing to be used to. Bill looked at tom and nodded a little, His face upset. I glanced at Tom and he looked just as upset, I wanted to do something to help. So I grabbed both their hands and held them, ok though, my daddy will fix everything. He always does! I attempted a smile and yawned. It was contagious and I found it amusing to watch the twins try and fight back their yawns. The yelling had died down, so it only seemed natural to curl up on the couch and go to sleep. So we did.

We were woken by the slamming of the door. Aunt Simone rushed into the room; she stopped dead when she saw us. Oh! Oh no, you three havent been here this whole time, have you? I just blinked at her as the twins ran to her. My father and mother werent far behind her, and Mama came to pick me up.

s part of why you should leave Sim, this isnt just about you. They cant be in this all the time and be healthy. You know that. My father placed a hand on her shoulder and I yawned, before nuzzling into my mothers neck and going back to sleep.

Aunt Simone stayed with us after that.

I was jolted awake when I hit the floor. I rolled over and sat up, rubbing my head. I scowled at the thought that I had actually rolled out of bed. No one actually did that, I sighed and levered myself up glancing at the clock. It was 9; only half an hour before my alarm was due to wake me up. I grumbled silently to myself all through my shower and getting dressed, today was the day. I had put Simone off for almost three weeks now, and for the first 2 Gordon had supported me fully. But the past few days hed told me in his own subtle way that it was time I get out of the house with people my own age. Even Lena had made friends at her new day care, so last night when Simone had hinted at calling this Andreas I had sighed and nodded. So Simone had only too gleefully called him and he had agreed to show me around town that day.

I walked into s room about an hour later, Time to get up, Lena. Your little friend Johan is coming over soon and you need to wake up. Of course she didnt actually wake up but it was important that she at least begin to wake up, otherwise she wouldnt be out of bed until noon. I didnt feel like making her rush so I just stood there and threw stuffed animals at her until she began to giggle and buried herself further into the covers. I smiled at her, Seriously though, Get up. Soon. She giggled again and I left to trudge downstairs.
I perked up when I realized that I could smell Simones Muffins. I skipped down the rest of the stairs and was incredibly excited by the time I got to the bottom and jogged to the kitchen. You made muffins! Simone laughed as I hugged her, squeeing over the muffins, You are so amazing! Have I told you lately that I adore you? She continued to laugh at me, motioning for me to sit down at the bar along the kitchen island. I stopped short when I noticed a tall blonde guy sitting in my normal stool. He looked just as surprised to see me as I was to see him. Uh, Simone?Yez dear? She turned and looked at me inquisitively, still smiling. I motioned to the stranger with the hand that wasnt occupied by the muffin. Her smile only got wider, Dear this is Andreas, I told you he was coming today, remember?

I slowly nodded, reaching up to touch my wet messy bun. My eyes widened as I realized I was in a beat up old sweatshirt and a very very large pair of basketball shorts. Simone, you didnt tell me that he was going to be here, she blinked at my whisper, m not dressed! My last word ended in a yelp, and I could hear her laughter as I fled from the room and back up the stairs.
I returned a few minutes later to reclaim my muffin and what little dignity I had left. Simone gave a valiant effort to not laugh but eventually she just couldnt help it. Ha ha ha. Lets see you meet someone new dressed like that, and see just how calm and collected you are. She didnt take any notice and just kept laughing; eventually Andreas joined her when I tritely stuck my tongue out at her.

Gordon entered and looked around at us confused before smiling. Did Calli do something silly again? Because if so Lena is going to be upset she missed it. I glared at him and Simone and Andreas only laughed harder. I watched Andreas out of the corner of my eye, he didnt seem too bad but I hadnt been the president of the art club at my highschool for nothing. I was a nerd, I knew it and embraced it; but I also had come across a lot of people who looked perfectly nice but turned out to be completely horrible.

But Id promised Simone and I always went through with my promises, so I couldnt back out no matter how nervous I was. I smirked as I heard Lena tromping down the stairs, quickly grabbing the last muffin and hiding it in the cookie jar. But Calli that was

I winked and Gordon hid a smile. Lena sped up as she obviously smelt the muffins, she skipped into the kitchen smiling. Her smile dropped when she saw the empty muffin tin. She looked at Simone, and then she looked at Gordon before finally turning to look at me. I must have given it away somehow because she began to glare, I laughed and produced her muffin from the cookie jar. She made a face at me and slid into a seat at the breakfast nook a few meters away, I smiled. Careful squirt, Ill show your baby pictures to your little boy toy. She sent me a scandalized look and decided it was too early to retort so she just ignored me.

I smirked at her before turning to look at Andreas, So, whatre we doing today that made you come over this early? I raised an eyebrow at him as he looked a bit guiltily at me. Let me guess you just came for the muffins?

He laughed, Can you blame me though?

I laughed and shook my head, No, theyre the best. But seriously what are we doing today?

Well, were probably going to head over to Adalias and meet up with the group. I think youll fit in alright. Then well probably go for lunch in Magdeberg, we found a lovely caf there that has the sandwiches. And if you even hint you enjoy shopping Nixie will probably drag you to Berlin for a shopping spree. Please tell me now that you wont force Richard, Lance, and I go though that? Derek probably wouldnt mind, but hes a bit queer you know. He smirked as I just blinked at him.

Oh, is that all? I tugged on my ponytail already nervous. I hated meeting new people, it made me want to go back upstairs and lock my bedroom door. Id probably end up calling Ally back in American and rack up a huge phone bill just to have her tell me that I was being an idiot. I sighed and glanced at the clock, it was only 11. So when are we leaving?

He shrugged, Whenever you want I suppose. Addie is expecting us so it wont be a surprise. I gaped and could almost feel Simones eager gaze on me as I gulped.

Az tse Americanz zay, dzere iz no time like tse prezent! Go on then! Out you go!She began to make shooing motions with her hands. She soon had us rushed out of the house and into the drive way. t come back too early now! She waved to us before closing the door with a thud.

I scowled at the door, and stuck out my tongue before turning to the black Z3 BMW that was sitting there. I stared at it blankly, for a moment before looking at him in a questioning manner. He shrugged, My Dad works at the main office. So he got it for waaaay off, and it was my birthday so he shrugged and I looked at him. He smiled sheepishly, and I shrugged getting into the car.

I eyed the black and green interior, and he shrugged again. I laughed at bit, Sorry but Daddy made me save up at least half the money for my own car and I finally got there not long ago, I have a lovely Pontiac on hold for me I paused and looked down at my hands, or, well I did. But anyway, I guess Im not used to people getting things like this for free. I sighed. Sorry, I babble when Im nervous.

He smiled at me as he slowed to stop at a round-a-bout;
t be silly, its fine. But if it makes you feel any better Ive been working at my Dads office since I was about 15, and Im going to college to get a degree in business so I can follow his illustrious footsteps. I blinked at him a bit surprised. Besides, I wasnt going to say no. This car is waaay too nice. Wait until you see Nixies babe. Mine is a few years old and it isnt special made, but that girls daddy buys her anything and everything. So when she asked for a Pink Porsche he couldnt buy it fast enough.

I looked at him blankly for a moment, A pink Porsche? Why on earth would you want a pink Porsche? I raised an eyebrow when he laughed,

s just if you knew her you wouldnt ask that at all, but Im pretty sure she had just figured out alliteration and thought she was being witty. I love that girl but sometimes I wonder what the heck is going to happen to her in life. He shook his head as he pulled into a parking place in front of a large house. re here! Dont worry too much, youre with me. They wont bite! He winked at me and got out of the car. I stared after him for a moment, and muttered a quick prayer to Saint Therese before following him. He smiled at me from where hed waited on the porch, he gave me a pat on the shoulder before opening the door to the house and walking in, HEY ALL! The partys here! Please dont fawn too much; I dont need your praise! He was answered by a pillow pegging him in the face, followed by laughter. OK! Who threw that?

A tall red head with grass green eyes appeared and smirked at him, I did, got a problem, Oh great pompous one? She crossed her arms at him and he quickly held up his hands in defeat. This stranger who was barely an inch taller than me turned to me and smiled. She held out her hand, s nice to meet you. Come on in.

I was then swept up into the strangest group of people I had ever met. Adalia, the redhead who lived in this large house with her parents and 4 younger siblings, was a strong person. She wasnt exceptionally loud or boisterous with anyone except her siblings, and Andreas. She was sarcastic, and funny; she always knew how to make someone smile. I liked her immensely almost immediately, and I would like to think that she was rather taken with me as well. Her younger brother, Derek was much the same. He had green eyes and messy black hair; he was much quieter than his older sister and seemed more prone to thinking and flipping through his book than truly teasing anyone else. But he did have a fun sense of humor and a quick wit when provoked. I had wondered almost immediately what he and Nixie had in common that made them even able to stand each other. But it became readily apparent after lunch when Nixie dragged the entire group with her to shop. Derek lit up like a candle, and immediately got into the fun of it.

Nixie was tall and shapely, her long honey hair falling well past her shoulders. She did indeed have a pink Porsche and it was obvious almost immediately, or it was to me at least, that Andreas had it for her bad. And I could understand why, for all she seemed like just a rich, brat when you first met her you soon realized that she was incredibly nave, and a genuinely warm person. She made you want to protect her, and I couldnt help but like her. Richard and Lance were solidly built guys, who at first site didnt seem that extraordinary or interesting. But as I watched them, I realized they were both almost as shy as I was. So I was pleased to realize that they were probably just as interesting as the others. I glanced at Andreas, across Nixie who was falling asleep against his shoulder, and smiled. He smiled back at me and gave a thumbs up, which I mirrored. We were soon back at Adalias house, and we all piled out of her fathers SUV and separated the shopping. It was quickly decided that Nixie was far too tired to drive home, so Adalia just helped her up to a guest room.

We didnt stay long after that, it was getting past 11 and I was definitely tired. So soon Andreas and I were in his little two-seater headed back. As I waved good bye to him and watched his little car speed away I realized that this place was really a home for me now. I smiled as I opened the front door. I climbed the stairs as quickly and as quietly as possible, I headed straight for my room. I quickly changed and climbed into bed ready to sleep and looking forward to the next day.

Game is admittedly a little loco. That's part of what makes him one of the best in rap right now. And to make tracks for him, you might have to get just as crazy as he is.

"Whenever I call a producer and tell them how I want the beat to be, I paint a picture," he said. "I called Just Blaze, and I'll be like, 'Yo, picture Jay-Z being in an elevator in the Bronx. ... It's broke, and all of sudden he presses the garage button and it shoots through the roof. He lands on Jupiter. And he walks out in all black. I want that record!' And Blaze will be like, 'All right. I'm about to do that record.'

"When you listen to my album and people say, 'You know how to pick beats' nah, I know how to pick scenarios and producers who understand my scenarios and know how to transform them into music," he added. "When it comes out the speakers, it sounds like what I asked for."

Two of Game's obvious go-to guys on L.A.X. are Cool Dre. They have his current single, "My Life," and might have his next as well.

"Cool Dre did that beat," he smiled when talking about "Money." "It's Miami, sounds Miami. If it is the next single, we gonna shoot the video in Miami. 'Money' is gonna be a big record. I'mma let the streets pick the single. If I had my way, 'Let Us Live' would be it. That's my favorite joint on the album probably." ...

The art of making love is like ... well, T-Pain and Lil Wayne will tell you all about it on their joint project. We've been hearing about the full-length collaboration for months. Pain finally got specific and told us about one of their records.

"It's the most awesome record in the world," he said of his favorite track, "Damn, Damn." "It's basically about what the girl is saying during intercourse."

Pain also broke out into song, revealing an excerpt from the Thr33 Ringz track "Therapy": "I say, 'One, two, three, four/ Get the hell up out my door.' "

"[The track] is just for the crazy women out there," he said. ...

It's about time. DJ Green Lantern is getting that cook up just right. He and Grafh are going in on the Oracle 2 mixtape. The street CD should be out in a couple of weeks. Grafh's debut LP, The Evolution, is slated to arrive within the next three months or so.

"We first did the record with my boy Prinz the Pistoleer," Grafh said of his first single, "Like Ohh." "A lot of rappers showed love and wanted to be a part of it, but Busta was the first one to reach out. He came through, showed love, tore it up with a crazy 16 [bars], then came down to the video with the 'whoo-ha' Busta Rhymes flava. That originally was the remix, but we made it the official single because Busta smashed it. Because everybody showed so much love, the remix is getting crazier. Shout-out to Jim Jones, he jumped on it. Swizz Beatz jumped on the remix. Bun B, Jadakiss is on the remix. It's crazy, and it's growing. I'm glad everybody is being receptive. When they show that love, I gotta shoot it back."

Grafh's original debut LP was called The Autografh, but since it sat on the shelf for so many years, he just leaked the LP online for free.

"This is my first official release," he said. "I got caught up in the politics. I never got a chance to release an album. The Evolution involves change. I'm more mature in the game. I'm growing as a man. My point of views have broadened.

Im a huge fan of Phil Collins and I just wanted to take the vibe from In the Air Tonight. One Mic is just about the power. Its almost like Hip Hop is Dead in its infant stages, saying how much this is a blessing to be out here, speaking about whats happening in my neighborhood, having the whole world understand and relate. I cant understand how Bill OReilly can be angry at a song called Shoot Em Up. If I didnt have a microphone, I could never talk about Shoot Em Up, and I was talking about Queens, New York, being shot up. What do I have to do to get somebody to turn around and hear what Im saying and take it serious? Im not here just to be in your face talking nonsense, were talking about reality. For him to be upset or people like him to be upset is insane to me. It just shows how ignorant people are. One Mic just gives me the ability, no matter how much ignorant people are mad that Im exposing or talking about our country, no matter what the language is, Im talking in a language that the people can hear, Im not sugar-coating it. So if it scares people and people feel guilty, people feel like theyve got to make up excuses to why the worlds this way, no matter what they say, like theyve got their mic, Ive got mine, and thats what that songs about.

I know, I know. DOOMED was set to drop today.
Lets just say I had some major problems. The tape is mixed, done, everything. The only thing I had to do was slice it up into seperate tracks for yall.
I spent the entire day trying to get my burner to work so I could do that normally easy last step.
Nope, the computer wasnt feeling it.
It was either give yall one long ass track, or wait until I could fix the problem.
Obviously I chose the latter. If you think your mad, imagine how I feel! I was running around for a few hours trying to get this shit working. I even drove my ass to CVS at 11:30 PM in hopes of the problem being the blank CDs I had.
Hopefully the tape will be set by tomorrow afternoon. Itll be worth it, promise.
I apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused, so here are two mixes off the tape to hopefully make up for it.
